Maxillofacial Surgeon

I saw an ENT who reviewed my images. Though she didn't believe it was the cause of my symptoms, she suspected a cholesterol granuloma adjacent to L petrous. She referred me to a Maxillofacial Surgeon... though his office called right away to schedule, it took me a while to arrange the appointment.

When we finally met, I showed him selected items from my imaging, among them the thing in my prepontine cistern, of which he said only that it might be a fluid collection (I have a suspicion it's ecchordosis physaliphora, but was hesitant to suggest it). I tried not to bombard him, which is to say I may have. I was eager to hear his thoughts on the left Meckel cave and cavernous sinus. He did not see what the previous doctor saw, and I wasn't sure enough to clarify it. At any rate, he didn't believe a cholesterol granuloma in that general location would cause my symptoms. Still he ordered a CT Sinus with contrast because of  my concerns.

Just before the appointment, I learned my insurance wouldn't cover that imaging facility.
